Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Markdown to PDF ("we", "us", the "Service", available at markdowntofile.com) handles information when you use our free online Markdown to PDF converter. In short: your document content stays on your device.
1. Your document content
The Service converts Markdown to PDF entirely in your browser (client-side). The Markdown you write, paste or convert is never uploaded to our servers and is never transmitted to us or any third party. We do not see, store, log or process your document content.
2. Local storage on your device
To improve your experience, the Service may save your current draft and your preferences (such
as theme, page size and light/dark mode) in your browser's localStorage. This data
stays on your device, is not sent anywhere, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your
browser's site data.
3. Information we do not collect
- We do not require an account, name, or email address to use the converter.
- We do not collect or store the files or text you convert.
- We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not collect it.
4. Analytics and hosting
Our hosting provider may automatically process limited technical data (such as IP address and user-agent) in server logs for security and to deliver the website, as is standard for any web host. If we use privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics to understand overall usage, it does not identify you and does not include your document content.
5. Third-party resources
The Service may load assets such as web fonts or math stylesheets from a content delivery network (CDN) so the converter renders correctly. These requests are subject to the respective provider's policies and do not include your document content.
6. Cookies
The core converter does not require advertising or tracking cookies to function. Any storage we
use is the functional localStorage described above.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
